Upper Court is a fantastic family run business providing an immersive experience for all guests. Whether you are looking for a romantic break for two, a country escape with the family, a fun and vibrant hen do or the setting for your dream wedding, Upper Court has everything you need to make your stay a memorable one.
There are 5 cottages in the grounds of the magnificent Georgian Manor house capable of housing 2-28 guests.
The owners (The Herford family) live in the Manor house so are on hand to see to your needs and help make your celebration perfect.
There are also 5 ensuite bedrooms available in the Manor house for groups of 6-10 guests where the owners can offer additional supplementary services such as meals in the formal dining room.
This retreat has so many facilities you will never be short of a group or individual activity. Relax by the stunning outdoor heated swimming pool, play a friendly game of tennis on the all-weather court or just immerse yourself in the extensive lush grounds including the tranquil lake which is ideal for boating.
There are games facilities, including a Wendy house, 2 ping pong tables, croquet, 2 balance bikes for toddlers and a dart board (please bring your own darts). This area is perfect to keep children of all ages entertained. Plus, the owners have garden games available for those sunnier days. They can also provide tennis rackets for the novice and wellington boots for when it a bit wet.
What makes Upper Court particularly special is the creative element. The family offer classes in Screen printing, Pottery and even have an etching press. These creative retreats make the perfect destination for Youth groups and also Corporate team building days. There is a large Gallery Room that can be set up for meetings with 1 flip chart, 1 whiteboard an OHP and refreshments. This room can also he hired as a more educational setting for youth groups or a larger dining space for hen do’s and other gatherings.
The Herfords have been welcoming guests for 50 years so they really have thought of every detail and have a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding area. They can offer guided walks of nearby Bredon Hill and can recommend the local pub, The Crown Inn, for a lovely meal and real ales within walking distance. The owners also have a list of local approved caterers that offer a range of services.
The Coach House sleeps 10+1
It has a light and airy sitting/dining room with seating for 24 at 2 tables. A fully equipped kitchen with enough crockery cutlery and glassware for 11 people. Upstairs there are 5 bedrooms:
One king size zip & link bed with en-suite shower
One twin room and one 4ft 6in double room share the family bathroom
A Family bedroom with 5ft double and 3ft single bed that interconnects to another bedroom with 4ft 6in double bed and shower room.
The Courtyard Cottage sleeps 6+2
It has a pretty, spacious living room leading to a cosy dining room and separate fully equipped kitchen. There are 3 bedrooms across a further 2 floors.
The first floor has two pretty bedrooms. One with zip and link beds (which can be a double or two singles) and the other with twin beds. A bathroom and shower-room complete this floor.
The top floor is the former hayloft and now a wonderful bedroom, very private, with lovely old beams and plenty of character. Two single beds and a double (4ft 6in).
The Stables sleeps 4+1,
There is a light open plan living/dining room with open fire leading to a small kitchen area. There are two bedrooms.
A very pretty, stylish ground floor bedroom has a canopied 5ft bed, with en-suite bathroom and separate power shower. Narrow stairs lead to the romantic second bedroom in the old beamed hayloft with beautiful views to Bredon Hill. This has a 4ft 6in double and one 3ft single bed. Steps lead down to a wet room bathroom. (Note: not suitable for the infirm due to the steep stairs).
The Dovecot sleeps 2+1
This romantic cottage is ideal for couple or small families. The ground floor is a cost open plan living space with comfy seating, a dining table and kitchen area. Stairs lead to the middle floor bedroom with impressive 4 poster bed.
A further set of stairs take you to the top floor where there is a single bed and a bathroom separated by a curtain.
The Garden Flat sleeps 2
This self-contained ground floor apartment is completely accessible. The open plan studio-style bedroom, with sitting room at one end, is tastefully furnished with antiques. For modern living there’s a comfortable 6ft double bed (can be made-up into twin beds).
The adjoining wet room has a shower, WC, bidet and ‘his and hers’ basins. (A disabled shower chair and loo seat/surround are available)
All cottages have private patios or garden and use of a BBQ
