The Great House is a very large listed property in the small village of Timberscombe in the Exmoor National Park.
For the last 25 plus years people have been coming to the house for their family holidays and celebrations, with its 10 bedrooms and seven bathrooms it happily caters for groups of up to 22 and sometimes considerably more.
There is a very well equipped kitchen with everything you need, if you feel so inclined, to prepare a sumptuous dinner for your guests. Alternatively you can use our caterers who are excellent and you can sit back and be pampered. The house has a large living room complete with inglenook fireplace and a large dining room where 22 people can sit down at the long farmhouse table. For the people with a little energy to spare there is the pool room (the one without water) and the games room with table tennis while outside for the more sedate there is garden chess. For the even more sedate there is a small bar where people have been known to vanish for the whole weekend. In addition there is another lounge complete with baby grand piano and also has a small kitchenette off.
For the more adventurous there are 10 acres of woodland to explore or just sit and soak up the sunshine in the walled garden. There is also a BBQ for those balmy summer evenings.
The house itself is ideally situated inside the Exmoor National Park, with walks from the door and some energetic cycling for the brave; two miles from the historic town of Dunster and only three from the coast. Whether your interest is in the countryside or the sea, you are equally well served, with the seaside towns of Minehead, Pollock, Lynmouth and a little bit further, Woolacombe beckoning while Exmoor is on your doorstep.
There is ample parking at the house and the local pub is a very short walk down the road.
