Outdoor enthusiasts will not be disappointed either: just half a mile from The White House is the Bure Valley Path, Weaver’s Way, and Marriott’s Way, where walking and cycling adventures await you over rolling farmland, across historic country estates, and along disused railways.
The Blickling Estate (National Trust), with its magnificent Jacobean house and gardens, is also just 1.5 miles away. This fabulous Norfolk residence is home to one of history’s most famous phantoms, Anne Boleyn, and her headless ghost is said to return each year on May 19th, the anniversary of her execution.
When staying at The White House, there is no need for anyone to be the designated driver as there is a regular bus service from Aylsham to Norwich, as well as to the traditional seaside towns of Cromer and Sheringham, and the Georgian town of Holt. The Bure Valley Railway also offers steam train journeys from Aylsham to Wroxham, where you can join an organised boat tour on the Norfolk Broads or hire a day launch.
At the end of each fun-filled day, The White House provides a delightful sanctuary where you can relax with family and friends, either outside under the stars or inside in front of the fire, before heading upstairs for a good night’s sleep in one of the well-appointed bedrooms.
