Stunning split-level geodesic domes with ensuite showers and loos set in the heart of The Royal Forest of Dean. Sleeps 9-16-20. Self catering or partly catered.
The SUPERDOME is super in every sense of the word - super-sized, super-fun, but above all super-cool! This is one of two giant, insulated, geodesic domes, each with space for 7 or 9 people.
The Superdome is on two levels with beds on both levels surrounding a fabulous wood burning stove. In the roof you’re all at sea in five super-comfy 'pipe-cots', normally found on ocean going yachts, surrounding a circular hanging double bed. All accessed by a little spiral staircase. Down below, more bed space and a wood-burning rocket mass heater to heat the circular bench where jolly groups can sit and chat.
To one side is a neat, wheelchair accessible, ensuite with flushing loo with two wood-fired showers,
The Superdome sits in the middle of a small camp of 10 other domes called the Dome Garden, just north of Bristol, in the heart of the Royal Forest Of Dean.
For food there is a small restaurant in the middle. It operates throughout the main part of the season, and serves wonderful organic breakfasts in the morning, as well as a series of 'forest inspired' wood-fired food in the evening or you can choose to fend for yourselves in your own fully-equipped forest kitchen with its stick-powered griddle and a big table for everyone to sit around.
In the main part of the season the Superdome is part of a lively and energetic glamping site full of people and children, eating, cooking, playing, and sometimes singing, in the big central firepit. The rest of the time it could be a haven of peace and quiet, deep in the forest.
The second dome is the OAK DOME. As well as 4 amazing hanging beds it also has a separate nook for a double and two large single bunk beds next door to the ensuite shower. It can take up to 8 people and is just down the path from the Superdome so if you're a group of up to 16 they are ideal to take together. For 20 people you add on the GREEN DOME which has four single beds and can be set up as a double and two singles or 4 singles. This dome also has its own ensuite shower and loo. There is also an amazing array of activities right on the doorstep including world famous forest biking trails, canoeing on the river Wye, great walks with stunning views, horse riding, trekking with llamas, bird watching, climbing, quirky local pubs, visits to the local vineyard, Go Ape in the forest - the list is endless!
