Spacious, light, bright and contemporary, The Quarterdeck is a great location for a special coastal celebration!
Set on a hillside in the picturesque town of Swanage, the accommodation is modern and relaxed. A wide first-floor balcony overlooks the town and bay, a fabulous setting for a sunset cocktail. An ‘upside down’ style property, the building is designed to make the most of those wonderful views with all the communal living spaces on the first floor. With 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and off road parking for 4+ cars, the house comfortably absorbs groups up to 10. Smaller parties have the option to request that the 4th bedroom becomes a games room, with pool table, additional TV & DVD.
A large patio with stylish garden furniture and a quality Weber BBQ, overlooks the garden - perfect for alfresco entertaining. If the evenings are a little chill, the dining area seats 10 easily.
Once here, you can ditch the car as the property is just 400 metres from Swanage’s popular Blue Flag sandy beach. Laze on the sand or try one of the many adventure activities on offer. Why not explore the beautiful Jurassic coastline by kayak? It is sure to make the weekend one to remember.
Swanage is a lovely Victorian seaside town with plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants. In summer, a fireworks display is held every Saturday night in August, plus an additional show on Wednesday during Swanage Carnival week. Carnival Week is traditionally at the end of July/beginning of August when the whole town is abuzz with live music, a colourful 2 mile carnival procession, competitions, treasure hunts and a fabulous display by the Red Arrows.
There are plenty of other great events held throughout the year; Swanage Comedy Festival is held in March and September, Purbeck Arts Week enjoys 2 weeks at the end of May and early June and Swanage Folk Festival hits the town on the 2nd weekend in September. Don't miss the town's fantastic Jazz and Blues Festivals or the many open air theatre events that occur around the area over the summer.
Just 7 minutes drive away lies the 4 mile golden stretch of the Studland beaches. Book a beach ride at the local stables, explore the trails and trackways of the heathland - a haven for wildlife or relax on one of Britain’s oldest Naturist beaches.
There are plenty of great walks direct from the doorstep. Why not walk to the summit of the evocatively named Nine Barrow Down and on to Corfe Castle? Have lunch in the Bankes Arms or visit the Castle's romantic ruins - you can even take a steam train back to town!
