Stunningly situated with views in all directions, this large property is perfect for hens who love the big outdoors but who want their creature comforts at the same time.
The house is really well equipped and has plenty of room to cater for large groups. The dining room can accommodate 22 people at one table. It also leads straight out, through a french door, onto a private walled garden with patio, BBQ and outdoor seating area, so your party can move seamlessly indoors and out.
There are two sitting rooms: one, with a large log burner, is big enough to seat your entire group; the other, with an open fire, is cosier but can still seat 10 to 12 guests.
The kitchen with its AGA, electric ovens and gas hobs provides a choice of cooking facilities. There are two dishwashers, a fridge, freezer and drinks fridge so all bases are covered.
Upstairs there are nine bedrooms over two floors, seven of which are en-suite and the other two sharing the use of a newly refurbished bathroom. Most of the rooms are flexible and can sleep people in either twin or double/king sized beds. All of the rooms have views, several over the famous Monsal Dale, the others with equally lovely vistas over typical Peak District scenery.
Outside, space is not a problem. In addition to the walled garden and private car park there is a further lawned area and a field so there is plenty of room for a game of rounders, an archery session or whatever activity you have in mind.
Not only is the setting beautiful but Castle Cliffe is also well situated in terms of amenities. There are two pubs within a short stroll, Bakewell is just 5 minutes drive, Chatsworth 10 minutes and the towns of Buxton and Matlock a 15 minute hop. As far as the Peak District is concerned the property couldn't be more central!
There are numerous walks straight from the door, (maps with suggested routes are provided) and, if cycling is your thing, then the nearby Monsal Trail, with its 8.5 miles of traffic free cycling, makes a very good place to start. This is certainly free range accommodation and not a battery farm!
