Why not pack up the car and escape with a bunch of your favourite people to your very own place in the country for two or three days well deserved break? Our award-winning cottages at Combermere Abbey on the Cheshire/Shropshire borders, sleep up to 27 people in 6 luxurious properties. The largest cottage, Beckett, with its high-pitched roof and gothic fireplace, allows everyone to dine together, offering a central gathering point for fun and frivolity. Catering for dinner can be arranged. Enjoy a retreat from life’s hustle and bustle, and indulge in the peace and tranquility of this wonderful landscape. You can use our complimentary DVD library, have dinner on arrival, wine in the fridge, spa treatments either in situe or nearby, frozen meals (purchased from the local farm shop and prepared from quality local ingredients) and maid service to do as much or as little as they wish. All our cottages are beautifully equipped, sleep between 4-6 guests and can be rented in a variety of combinations, depending on the size of the group. You have the beauty of spending time together but maintaining your own space, and not having to fight over the favourite TV programme!! Outdoor activities both on and off the 1000 acre estate and include long walks through woodlands and parkland, lake swimming in the warmer months (or for the brave!), coarse fishing, tennis and cycling. Dogs are also welcome and get their own Pooch Pack, ensuring that your four legged friend need not be left behind. They have their own wood to run in, and lots of exciting smells to follow. Within 7 miles there is off road driving, parachuting, ballooning, fishing and slightly further afield the reknowned West Midland shooting school for clay pigeon lessons. There are great cycling and walking routes and canals through Shropshire and North Wales. The area is full of great pubs and restaurants, market towns and farmers markets, and famous for its wonderful gardens - Cholmondeley Castle, Tatton, Arley Hall, Wollerton Old Hall and nurseries such as David Austin Roses. Cut your Carbon Footprint - we are creating a new woodland to celebrate the 875th birthday of the estate, each Houseparty will have a personally identified tree planted as a token of our thanks for coming to stay.
