Named after the small hill behind the house Alice Howe sleeps 14 comfortably in 7 bedrooms with 7 ensuite or private bathrooms. Perfect for a large group holiday in the lakes. Each bedroom has a ipod dock radio alarm clock, white cotton bedding, TV and a number have DVD players. There are 4 twin rooms, 2 doubles and 1 bunkroom. The house has 2 living rooms so you can put the kids in one and have peaceful adult time in the other. The front sitting room has an open fire, leather settees, TV, DVD player and a hifi with ipod dock. The rear lounge has a TV, DVD jukebox with around 200 films, a wood burning stove and leather settees. The dining room has a huge table perfect for entertaining a group of 14. The room also has an open fire surrounded by a Pugin designed fireplace similar to the one he designed for Westminster Palace. It is also equipped with a Bose ipod dock. The rear walled courtyard enjoys a view to Orrest Head where Alfred Wainwright took his first view of the lake District - a view that changed his life for ever! The courtyard has a huge teak table and chairs perfect for dining alfresco and it's surrounding walls mean that it's usually protected from the wind. As you'd imagine the property has been thoughtfully decorated and furnished and consequently has been awarded 4 stars by Visit England.
